Help for Headaches and Neck Pain

woman with aching headFrom being mildly annoying to highly debilitating, headaches and neck pain are common issues that can sideline people from their daily activities. While many people turn to OTC pain relievers, those come with side effects and don’t get to the root cause.

Chiropractic care offers a holistic approach to addressing headaches and neck pain. It focuses on the root causes to provide long-lasting relief.

Types of Headaches We Can Address

At our practice, we frequently treat several types of headaches, including

  • Cervicogenic: Originating from the neck, these headaches are often caused by issues in the cervical spine.
  • Tension: This is the most common type, usually resulting from muscle tension in the neck and shoulders.
  • Migraines: Often debilitating, migraines can be effectively managed with chiropractic care.
  • Postural and Soft Tissue: Poor posture and tension in the muscles can lead to these types of headaches, especially in people who sit for long periods.

Common Causes of Neck Pain

Neck pain can result from various factors in our daily lives. Poor posture, especially during prolonged computer use or smartphone scrolling, is a leading cause. Injuries from accidents or sports can also cause neck pain. Additionally, stress and tension often manifest as tightness in the neck muscles, leading to discomfort and reduced mobility.

Getting to the Root Cause

Chiropractic care targets the underlying causes of headaches and neck pain by focusing on the nervous system and musculoskeletal alignment. By adjusting the spine and reducing tension in the muscles and nerves, chiropractic care helps regulate the nervous system, alleviating pain and preventing future occurrences.

We also examine lifestyle factors, such as sleeping position and posture, to help you avoid habits that contribute to your discomfort.

Why Choose Chiropractic Care?

Compared to over-the-counter medications, chiropractic care offers a conservative, holistic approach to headache and neck pain relief. It avoids the side effects associated with medications and focuses on correcting the root cause rather than just masking the symptoms. This approach provides long-term relief and helps you maintain a healthier lifestyle overall.
